I apoligize I tried using the search forum but was unable to find what I was looking for. I am now running a Nvidia SLI setup with two 570's. What I want to know is how to create my multimonitor file to where I can run the Sim in 5760*1080 I am running 3*27in Acer monitors. (Christmas present to myself).

Anybody out there running something similar and how.

And Part two of my question I am running an AMD 6100 stock speeds with 16gigs of ram what kind of performance do I need to set for.

Thanks
Rap

I'm running ATI's Eyefinity setup (3 screens). You just need to be sure your screens are set in Windows to be one large surface at whatever resolution is native (In NVidia's control panel). Be sure to bezel adjust. Then pick that resolution in ROF's setup launcher.

No idea about the performance, sounds like you can get away with everything on high and FSAA on 2x or 4x.

I'm running 2 27" and a 24 inch. Just have it set to span displays in the nvidia sli section of the control panel. Then do the benzel correction as AragonV said.

I would expect that you can max things out or very close.

Then just be prepared to fly around with a big cheese eating grin on your face!

And you've set "Span displays with surround" in Nvidia's control panel?

That should give you a res detectable by ROF.

I was going to start another similar thread, but thought it might be better to hijack this one for a moment to consoldate the information in one thread...

I've messed with computers for a long time, but one thing I've never toyed with, was multiple monitors.

...I think I want to mess with it some.

So I currently have a GTX 580 with 3072MB RAM.
I am also running a Dell 3007WFP 30" at its native 2560x1600.

My thoughts are to add two smaller DELL 1600x1200-native monitors on their sides to the edges of the 30" to give me 4960x1600.

That's a lot of pixels to post-process!!!!

- What DELL monitors would be best to use?
- How would 3 monitors plug in? (center = mini-HDMI + sides = both DVI slots)
- Would it be best ( would I have to) add another 580 for SLI ( so 3 monitors plug into DVI? )

...this is all on an i7 980X if that matters much... and a 1200W PSU, so plenty of juice there too I would imagine.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Whoops Sorry to rehijack Brian

Acutally I had clicked Span Displays with Surround and I am running 6082*1080. However the highest ROF goes is 4055*720

It sounds like the GPU scaling is what is messed up. Check the scaling options in NVidia's control panel. Sorry I'm not that familiar with NVidia's control panel with multimonitors...

I intend to buy 3 Dell 24" Ultrasharp U2412 monitors by next October or November unless anything else comes along that's better for a better price. From my reading, they are the best picture quality for the buck being an "eIPS" panel. I want the good off-angle viewing, LED backlit, native Displayport connectivity and low input lag.

With NVidia you HAVE to run SLI to have 3 displays. You'll need another 580.

I think most people with NVidia cards running 3 screens use the two DVI connections on the first card and the HDMI or another DVI on the second card. Also, some NVidia cards come with a Displayport or mini Displayport you could use instead of HDMI.

I'm running my 3 19" HP LCD displays from Displayport on the monitor to mini Displayport on the back of my ATI 2GB Eyefinity 6 5870 card via converter cables. The order you plug them in doesn't really matter as you can arrange them in the display driver software. I'm running CrossfireX (2 cards) but I don't need to with ATI's technology. I just get better FPS with 3 screens running CrossfireX. wink My bezel adjusted res is 4584x900.

I figured it out. I had to change my settings in the config INI and turn off Post Process

Ah that's strange RAF74_Raptor! Maybe ROF doesn't pull resolution data past a certain width...

Hmmmm, I have two 6970's and I believe I'm running 5760 x 1200 without any of the reset or limit problems mentioned above. I'll have to recheck. The resolution showed up in the VIDEO settings without any problems.

EDIT: Rechecked it and it works just fine at 5760 x 1200.

Hi Brian

What you want is called PLP (portrait landscape portrait).
I have it with dell 30", and 2 4:3 monitors in portrait.

Neither Nvidia or ATI eyefinity supports it natively.

So 2 choices:
A) Windowed mode and mess with confit files in every game
B) Use SoftTH - http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/

I'm going down the path of B but am considering other options too. But I love the Dell panel and I think I'll stick with this.

But for Nvidia you need a second card that runs off the same driver to plug your 3rd monitor.

I'm swapping my Nvidia for a 7970 I hope, 3 ports and double the VRAM. But you have the VRam already so maybe look at some cheap secondary card like gtx 260

S! Thanks Taipan,

I have decided to go with 2x Dell™ UltraSharp™ 2001FP 20.1" in portrait-mode on the sides of my 3007WFP 30".

...I should be able to find these for under 100 bucks each.

Holy Smokes! That's just under 8 Megapixels of real estate!!! (7.936 Million pixels)

...I have a sneaking suspicion that Post Processing will bring this to it's knees!

But having close to ~60 inches of viewing should be pretty damn awesome at 4960x1600!

Thanks for the assist everyone!

S!

p.s. I have my old eVGA 580 1.5Gb for the third DVI slot - just cant run SLI with that.
