Hey Everybody,

I just found out my NIC has this mode and was wondering should I enable it or turn it OFF?? I looked on Wiki and read what it does and not exactly sure what I should do??

Unless you're packet sniffing your neighbours, or penetration testing your own network off is fine.

Basically with it OFF the NIC will discard all packets aimed at a different MAC adress than it's own (low level filter). Switching it ON means you can get all traffic coming to that NIC into the TCP Stack of the OS - which still won't do anything with them but you could capture them with Wireshark or such.

If you do plan to turn it on then put Chap Stick on the LAN connector first.
