Awesome preview Guod, really nice to see in your preview that multi-monitor support is in, hopefully it will work really well like iRacing's does, very excited about the beta and hoping it will come out today or tomorrow.
And I am this type of gamer: "I'll crank that baby up to the maximum settings and work the graphics back down to an acceptable level."
Most likely if I get the 3 monitor support working I will have to dial down the settings.
Thanks for the preview, look forward to racing with you guys online at Spa '67.

I was looking forward to this but all this hype is making me second guess. Another sim was hyping itself last August and it turned out to be a dud. I don't understand why devs do this to themselves. Ah well. At least I'm not so exited by this anymore.

Great preview,...hits nicely on a lot of the areas that people were wondering about. Some really nice screens as well and an exclusive on the track marshals. While I'm sure a majority is waiting for a GPL-flashback, seems to be a decent mix of car types to give a good impression of the physics performance overall at this point. We all just have to remember one thing....it IS a Beta. It's going to have some teething problems, but ISI's always shown great support in the past. Looking forward to being the first to take a dip into the Monaco harbor....

I'm barely getting up to speed on rFactor and then they come out with rFactor 2? I guess I'll be back up to speed in...7 years? <sheesh>
Nice article, Doug! Looking forward to more screenshots and gameplay vids!

Great article, Doug. Thank you and thanks to ISI for getting this preview to us. Looks like the product is well thought out, and they listened to the community. Hopefully that will continue as the Beta goes golden.

for what i've seen, there's a lot of ugly stuff from previous rfactor, like the setup garage, no real time meassures like LFS or Netkar PRO, i hope changing values in the setups at least work as in other sims. i hope the physics change at least, from the videos you can't tell really, looks good though.

Looks great and good write up Doug! Let's see, I built my current gaming rig in 2005 so I could run rFactor and that's what it's been primarily used for since then...I guess it's time to build a new one for rF2!

Doug, did you try the pseudo-listen server deal? Run dedicated server on your PC than run the MP on top of that and connect to it?
I hosted my own rFactor server for small races while also racing on the same PC for a long time, and I still do for Race, F1, and Dirt. The ability to do that without connecting to someone else's server where they've picked the cars and tracks is of utmost importance to me.

The Jedi Master I have not, but I will and report back later this week. Glad you mentioned it!

While in theory I could run the dedicated server on my laptop, I'd rather not! Especially as it would be running it over wi-fi...
