Tonight we resume the Sahrani campaign with mission 19, previewed here.

From there I am thinking tonight will be OPFOR night. It's been a while since we've done that.

See you there!

I hope my little "surprise" during the campaign mission wasn't over the top. Looking back I should have added a sidechat text message acknowledging player discovery of the decoy tanks and advising SL to scour for the real ones. I had anticipate a mission plan approaching from anywhere from the south through the east and placed the infantry near center of that quarter. From most every prominent terrain feature in that quadrant the camo nets are visible in the trees, and in fact the technical we encountered even patrols from the town out directly to the hidden tanks to draw the players eyes.

The very wide flanking plan didn't work out exactly like that, but still we triumphed well enough. In the future I'll more carefully shape the viable plans were useful with some markers and flavor texts.

The AI in the trees were particularly brutal. But on the other side of the coin, that BMP-2 in a later mission was staring us down just 100m away and never fired.

Overall some good times, thanks everybody!

Yes, they are under the training objects IIRC.

My tank cmdr got me killed. I was moving, and he said to stop. So we took TOW hits. frown

I'd recommend a court martial, but he died too. biggrin

Haha, I enjoyed the decoy. I very seriously expected a Hind or worse to roll over the horizon when we found those decoy tanks -- ambush! But instead I just sent us on a wild run.

I'm sure everyone enjoys Tao's Long Way Around PT Sessions :3

That campaign mission looked really interesting, sorry to have missed it. Unfortunately, I was up to my elbows in homebrew last night and finished cleaning up way later than I expected.
