Any one here still use Aces and Grat`s amazing Mat Manager ? I have become so disatisfied with CLOD (that is another story) I have returned to the best (in my opinion) and re installed 1946.I have installed the Mat Manager and have copied created and renamed the il2fb launch application to il2.exe.
Mat Manager cannot find the path to the exe so what have I done wrong ?

Cheers,

Paul

Why did you rename the exe?

instructo`s mate,

Procedure after you install the program:

1) Copy your 1946 game's "il2fb.exe" and rename the copy to "il2.exe." (You should now have both versions in your game's main folder. Don't simply rename il2fb.exe or else Hyperlobby and other utilities won't work.)

Have you checked to make sure you don't have an extra space in the renamed file? It's easy to do and very easily missed since everything looks correct.

Just renstalled all my Il2 clobber in Win 7 including mat manager and all works flawlessly, only notable exception being Il2 Stab.

As a sidenote to anyone renaming files like this: Make sure that the properties of the folder is set to show
file extensions for all files. If not you will advertently name the file ???.exe.exe beacuse the extension
don't show as standard.

Thats why it worked when you removed .exe from it.

Regards

IL-2 MAT Manager was always a MUST for me, when I flew a lot of IL-2/46. I'm planning on giving 4.11 a whiz, and I'll be reinstalling MAT Manager then I do. I need the hakenkreuz on German aircraft. That's just me. I usually flew MiG-3s most often.

Who usually carries the latest version of Mat Manager for download? I am almost ready to reinstall 1946 and patch up to 4.11 +hotfix and this program sounds like it might fit the bill for giving me the hakenkreuz as well as other functionality.

One more question - is there an instruction manual? After I downloaded from mission4today, I followed a link to the MatManager homepage but it was a broken link.

Hi folks,

Nice to see that I'm not forgotten smile

I'm just downloading v4.11 to see what's been going on but I can no longer fly anything as my joystick broke a couple of years ago and no spare money after the mortgage and bills go out to buy a new one frown.

Hope everyone is happy and well, this takes me back to the good 'ol days smile.

Cheers

Thanks for stopping in Aces High 2. Hope you'll be able to resolve your issue at some point. This is still a fun game. copter

PS - thanks for the great utility. Judging from the wide variety of markings available, it must have taken an enormous amount of research to get them right. They are 110% better than default and in my book a requirement for immersion.

Hi chaps,

Thanks for the kind words, it's nice to hear that folks are still finding my stuff useful. I'm hoping to pickup a cheap HOTAS setup, probably a Saitek X-52 or similar when funds permit and then I can get back in the air, I miss my flight sims. I fired up v4.11, it looks very good, much cudos to all involved.

Cheers

It's really nice to see who has shown up in the past year who were around long before I started playing and seemed to have moved on to other things entirely.

Hi Paul,

Great to hear from you buddy, yes, we had lots of fun didn't we. I've really lost my gaming "mojo" in recent years, I've bought games and many of them are still in their wrapping, un-opened and un-played or I've tried to get into them but I am always left un-satisfied. I simply don't get the enjoyment out of them that I used to, my PC mostly gets used for e-mail nowdays. Having said all of that, I might get an X-52 when funds permit as I can't fly any of my flight sims even if I do weant to.

I did do that multi-skin bomber work for BoB v2.10 which took quite a few months and also a lot of modding work for SH3 which was enjoyable but since then I've only done a few mods for Steel Fury mostly for my own amusement.

I hope that you and your family are all well,

Take good care m8.

Kind regards

Leigh
