Recently met a man who has 2 red tailed hawks that he hunts with. They mostly kill rabbits and squirrels. I am looking forward to going on a hunt with him. We have a nesting pair near our house and see them often. Yesterday one stopped by in the upper branches of an oak tree and finished off a pigeon it had just killed. What powerful flyers!

Saw these when I was TDY in Alaska, some marines thought they were tough and one almost got stumped to death....lucky his friends stopped him. When I was stationed there, Moose use to come into base housing all the time. A little scary when you have young kids running around.
