Now that I have finished most of the cheevos for BF3 and have reached my colonel rank (yes, that's right, I'm bragging WinkNGrin) I have finally started to give some of my other games a try and I must say Rage is a blast! It hasn't been mentiuoned much here but I think many of you would like it. It's a nice break from the *ahem* reality shooters. I see it as a cross between Fallout and Borderlands.

The game is simply gorgeous with silky smooth frame rates. Plenty of different gameplay from shooter, to offroad racing, to minigames. There is a racing MP component but it's not really worth your time IMO. The game really shines in SP. Voice acting is well done, the story is decent, controls are excellent and the variety of weapons is very imaginative and fun to use.

If you haven't given it a try and you like shooters, I would highly recommend Rage. thumbsup

I would like to get it when its cheaper. I also want to get the console version as I hear its great looking and runs smooth. I don't have enough HD space though to install the high res textures they talk about though.

Magnum gave this one accolades.

I was in my local Wal-Mart yesterday. They are currently selling it for $29.99. I DL the Demo and tried it. I think I've had enough of post-apocalyptic type RPG Shooter Games after Fallout and Borderlands (I kept getting that feeling of been there, done that while playing) so I won't be buying it. Like Slash says, though, it is a great looking and beautiful game. If you want to venture into that type of world again you probably can't do any better than Rage.

Can Xbox 360 users tell me how the install works? I was poking around trying to figure it out. I don't have anywhere near 22gb space on my original 360. I read somewhere where you can play one disk, then uninstall, then play another disk.

Does this affect the graphics in anyway? Is there a high res install or am I thinking BF3? Also, how do you install a game on the 360? I did not know you could do that and don't know how.

Rage will take about 22GB of harddrive space. Although you can play the game from the disks, I would not recommend it. I don't think it will affect the resolution all that much but the problem is that the game is somewhat open ended and you can travel and finish missions and side quests as you like and different areas of the wasteland are on different disks, which means as you travel from one location to another, it will be constantly promopting you to change disks. Considering there are three disks, that situation would basically make the game unplayable.

As far as how do you install on the 360, instead of hitting "A" to start the game, tap "Y" at the dashboard to enter into game details screen. You then will see at the bottom of the screen that if you want to install the game, you tap "Y" again. Install took about 20 mins because you have to install all three disks.

Hope that helps Coot.

good game, maybe very good... but it's not open ended like I would prefer... it's still a corridor shooter, but with bigger cordidoors... i eventually got tired of it and stopped playing.

IMO

Thanks slash. Maybe I'll wait to get it when I get a newer 360 with built in hard drive.
