I'm in the middle of a new build and have decided on the Intel 2500k 1155 socket. But which motherboard to choose is really slowing me down. I would like to overclock, but dont intend to run SLI/Crossfire, and have a budget of about £120 give or take.

I was thinking about the Sabretooth P67, but reviews seem mixed. Any recommendations?

That's a nice board from the reviews I've read. It's going for around 200 bucks here in Texas. Those cheaper boards are cheaper because they don't have near the voltage regulation of the better boards so OC with a bargain board usually is not as easy.

The 2500k is going for 180 here too.

Another good board that won't break the bank is the MSI P67A-GD65. I thought about getting one last month but decided to run this 1156 rig at least another year.

That MSI board is nice, and it just went to the top of the list. The other board I was considering is the the Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen3.

And both of these boards are in the right price range as well.

I have the Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 gen 3. Cost around $125 in the USA. Very easy to overclock inside of windows. Only bad thing is that I can't get my I2500k to overclock over 4.4ghz. Been reading online that there are a lot of people that have the same experience with this board.

I'd stick to a mid range Z68 from Asus\Asrock or Gigabyte.
Asrock offer the best bang for the buck, quick boot and solid VRM though the lower end z68m skimps on heatsinks. Think the Pro-3 is pretty decent at a great price.

Asus or Gigabyte, stay away from MSI IMO. They make awesome cards, but their boards are not on the same level.

Asrock if you're on the budget.

Not much difference between Z68 and P68. P68 isn't burdened with onboard graphics, so might overclock a bit easier. Dunno, just adds another option which might be a tad cheaper.

I've been running the Asus P8Z68-V Pro for a couple months now. Haven't had any problems so far. I see the Gen3 is out for it now too.
