If the grind was doing math, geometry, logic, chemistry, and physics with increasing difficulty whenever there's a console to do something at or an anomaly to analyze, that might be worth it. I would actually enjoy doing just intermediate algebra problems between battles. That and having comms would help. But the whole follow-the-breadcrumbs and hit F thing gets old REALLY fast. I may be a bit of a geek, but I'm not a %$#@! nerd who goes nuts on liveries and the latest character outfit. I was never in to comics. I never spent hours painting models. If that's what the average star trek or MMPORPG fans are like, then I'm not one of them.

voice channels barely work, thats why.

i gave up on their voice comms.

i think now, when my brother and I both play, we use the Battlefield 3 Voice Coms and just minimize the battle log and load up Star Trek

that First Contact day mission was a boring run back and forth on a ship and talk to people for nothing mission.

meanwhile, nearly everyone i play with says the same thing, we have been at level 50 for who knows how long, our character is pretty much locked as we cant keep adding to his abilities. and they have yet to even hint they are raising the cap or adding new abilities.

The lack of more endgame content is the one unfortunate thing with STO for me. After tricking out my cruiser, I was left with not much else to do.

I wish there were true warzones where you felt as though you could contribute like in Pirates of the Burning Sea. Or a long campaign chain where you were engaged behind enemy lines that required little scripting and some random elements like the original Starfleet Command. Things like that would really give you something to work on after you hit cap.

I have to admit, I am actually enjoying this MMO. I used to play Lineage II years ago. I've tried dozens of MMO's since and none kept me interested more than a couple of weeks.

What I'm liking about STO is the ground & ship combat. The sounds and explosions are great as well.

Might actually keep playing this for a while. Helps that it's free to play. :-)

Well, it's finally happened. Cryptic reset passwords for most of its members (a security breach that happened 1 1/2 years ago) and now quite a few (including me) are locked out. It's been 5 days and still no response (except bot e-mails) from their customer service. (Well, did I expect anyone to call on the 'weekend'?)

Bad thing is that I am a paying customer and I can't even log-in to cancel my payment!
You would think they would be more concerned about people who actually give them money.
Guess the only thing to do is contact my credit card company and stop payments to Perfect World and Cryptic. Sheesh!

As a friend of mine said, "This would have made a great single-player game. Play through it once and put it on the shelf."

PS> Before anyone asks, I cannot reset my password as the e-mail address I signed on with is no longer valid (hell, I've moved
TWICE since then). And they won't accept my ID by e-mail, so I'm royally forked...
