I think that would be a bit dangerous

Dangerous and complicated... Three rotors and four engines... Wow.

You have to wait for the turbofans (might be small turboshafts) to stop turning before you egress the aircraft, or that would be one hell of a dangerous egress. God forbid if you trip...

Does not seem practical to me. Speed increase is nice, I'm sure, whatever it may be... But huge increase in fuel consumption, maintenance, consumables, etc. Would this be worth a small range and speed increase?

Looks like a good idea to me.
Gets rid of the silly tail rotor and gives a useful boost in speed. Not for everyone but in the right application it'd be hard to beat.

Where are you finding four engines? It has two, like many other helicopters:

So, you have two engines driving a couple of gearboxes, which feed one main rotor and two propellers - that's only one spinning thing more complex than a normal helicopter. Doesn't seem like such a dangerous leap to me.

I believe the main rotor is geared to slow down at higher speeds?

Anyway, that's no hybrid. It doesn't have batteries that charge via the brakes, it doesn't have green eyes, and its mom's not from Earth while its dad's from Vulcan.

It'd be easier to just throttle-back the main engine to do that.
