Would you expect aircraft with revised FM's to behave more like the SE5a with regard to Acceleration and energy bleed ?

It strikes me that if most, if not all, the aircraft in RoF had similar acceleration and energy bleed to the revised SE5a it would be a game changer for RoF. It might even more evenly balance out the game between turners and boomers. Turners might even have to start thinking tactically rather than simply pipper on target.

The better furballing aircraft are going to have props with finer pitch than the SE5a.

Look at the N17 and N11 for examples of what FM revision has in store for rotary powered aircraft.

Would aircraft that were expected to fly and fight at a higher altitude generally have a courser pitched propeller, it is presumably why the SE5a has one as I don't know of any other reason to stymy it's performance otherwise.

From what I understand the DR 1 also has a course pitch propeller, if it had the same effect on acceleration and energy bleed as it seems to have on the SE then it would certainly liven things up a bit in the average dogfight.

From book knowledge of the Dr1 (I'm sure there are 'experts' who will correct me...), it initially had a prop that gave it superior speed at the expense of climb, but MvR lobbied and had a different pitch prop installed to increase rate of climb. MvR wanted the best point defence fighter possible, which was the Dr1. Apparently this explains some of the discrepancies seen in Dr1 stats.

I will double check details (once home) and edit as needed.
