Sounds promising. I hope the two protagonists will more or less share equal portraying. Besides being rivals, I gather that Hunt and Lauda had immense regard for each other, and personality-wise they seem to have been very different. It would be cool if the movie portrays both characters.

Regarding the cast: The guy who played "Thor" in the recent comic book movie will play Hunt, and the guy who played the lead SS officer in "Inglorious Basterds" will play Lauda. Other people are listed, but I did not recognize them. I think the "Thor" guy could be made to look like Hunt. The "SS" guy I am not so sure about him looking at all like Lauda. Ron Howard does say that the screenplay is sort of centered on Lauda's comeback, so that might put bias into the film, which would not be as good as a well-balanced look at the two drivers.

One sad thing in the above interview: Ron Howard says that with today's tech, he doesn't need to actually film on location. He can do it all in the studio. The last thing I want to see is a bunch of bad racing-game CGI on the big screen. I want to see real (replica) 1970s F1 cars tearing up the real circuits, where-ever possible! There is no replacement for that look and feel, IMO.

Unfortuntely that seems to be the way with most new movies. Forget about location and real cars (etc.), we can do it all in studio with CGI.

The new "Red Tails" trailers all look like "Dogfights" on History Channel with bad sims being used for the real thing...heh.

The last Star Wars movie they tried to pass off was a freakin' cartoon. Talk about lazy.

This is a racing movie. It's not like trying to find a bunch of WWI or WWII vintage aircraft for real shots. How hard is it to build replica 76 F1 cars?

The Clone Wars movie was a bit sloppy but the series that followed has become pretty solid.

We'll never have another Grand Prix or Le Mans. I just hope this is worth watching story-wise and that the cgi is believable.

LOL, I love Dogfights too...mostly for the story told. The CGI leaves a lot to be desired though.
