If someone would write an add-on program or something that would allow mid-mission saves I'd pay $100 for it. Trying to sim with a 2 year old in the room is nearly impossible. biggrin

My suggestion... change the behavior of the power button on your case to sleep mode or hibernate. You can even turn on hybrid sleep mode on. I did the experiment with a couple of sims some time ago and it seemed to work fine. Of course you won’t be able to use your computer for other tasks in the meantime, but you should be able to hold off your mission for a couple of days.

How I wish sims would have a in mission save option!

I'll see your 2 yr old and raise you with a 3 yr old who insists on sitting on the lap and an 8 month old whose new hobby is to squeal/scream at max volume for fun!

I'm thinking I'm going to have change all my HOTAS profiles for my sims to make the pinky button on the stick PAUSE.

I love it when I actually DO pause the sim to go do something else (like Tubby Time), spend a couple hours doing something, then come back to my computer. I sit down in front of "the situation" and try to remember what the heck I was doing (tactically).

"So..alright..I remember being by this hillside..and the map shows the targets just over there..and..hmm..what was that red light up there doing?"

<unpause>

"Oh crap..SA-8....."

Crash. Boom. Eject..

Sigh. Might as well unload the dishwasher.

Funny as hell guys!

Griff and I were in a “training mission” I concocted the other night, and his little angel was riding shotgun in his lap. The conversation on Ventrilo was something like this:

Me: “Griff, I’m off the tanker, pushing to STP 2, I have the bridge in the TGP, and selecting a GBU-12…”

Griff’s angel “co-pilot”:
“Hi BBall….”

Me: “Hello Nola…how are you sweetie?”

Griff: “Roger, I’m leaving STP 1 and will meet you this side of 2.”
“No Nola…don’t push that….”
“No ….we’re NOT going to crash…”
“Hang on Bill….I’ll be right back….”

(insert sound of 3 yr old being taken to bed….)

Ah….my little “co-pilot” is 15 now and could care less about my flight simming. I completely remember the days of her in my lap, inbound to the target in Jane’s F/A-18 doing some fancy “nap of the Earth”, and she’d grab the HOTAS, jam forward on the stick and we’d become a huge fireball of teeth, hair and eyeballs.

“Sigh….OK honey, let’s see if “Blues Clues” is on TV.”

Good luck guys, it does get better…

cheers

BBall

BOTH the guys on Blue's (the first and the replacement) creep me and my wife out. The girls love it, though.

They love Wonder Pets more, though, thankfully. That and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. smile

You could save your track when you quit. Then when you want to resume, advance with time compression up to near the end - then take control.

That would also have the benefit of refreshing your tactical awareness.

My experience has been that track replay is incredibly unreliable in both DCS Black Shark and A-10C. I've been assuming I wasn't the only one...
