Having a strange issue. Upon booting up, both video cards are shut off and my icons are 2 inches high. A system restore sets everything right, but a restart shuts them off again. Drivers are the most recent. Everything runs fine after restore...

Quick questions:
what's your PSU?
How long was your system stable in this configuration before this problem began?
Have you made any changes recently?

Have you checked if the graphics cards and the SLI bridge are firmly seated?

OK, I had turned of User Account settings to the lowest settings because I got sick of confirming every time I did something. I turned it back up after ANOTHER restore and things are holding. I rebooted and everything worked fine. I was thinking virus, because then my internet crapped out on the PC, but my Iphone connected to the wifi still worked fine. Now Norton is doing some goofy things...popping up saying it needs to run something....

Sounds like Malware, which will kill your internet or put a proxy you dont want on it, edit the hosts file, block certain programs from running (Including AV, Firewall, TaskManager, etc). its prolly blocking your GFX Software thus causing windows to have a fit with detecting 2 cards and not knowing what to do with them since the GFX Card App isnt allowed to run and configure them.

I Leave the UAC on because I want to know when something is trying to modify My System.

I've run Malwarebytes, Norton, and Avast full scans and they haven't found anything....grrrrr. I thought it was odd there were only 2 days worth of system restore points...I had a pesky virus years ago that wouldn't even let me GET to system restore...it removed buttons, blocked internet, and was a huge pain in the butt.

So I deleted all the malware programs and Norton, installed Microsoft Security Essentials and things are as good as new. Must have been a stray electron. I get the feeling I was having Norton issues, it wasn't playing nice with other programs.
