Like most of modders of EAW, I have a prefered game engine. Most of the Gen crew know I drink too much and EAW is not my first love. Thats kinda why I retreated to my home after it was obvous Jell and Kengle had every thing in hand.
I have not noticed a posting to the down side of 'many' textures. There is a down side that is perportinal to the players hardware. The hardware can pass 3D and texture between the motherboard and the vid card as long as a 'lock' is not required. This 'lock' is triggered when , umong other things, the texture for the rendered poly is changed. The extreams of the performance hit can be seen when you fly over landscape that has one texture and landscape that has one texture for every grid.
I wish every modder of EAW a grand 2012. You continue to inspire me.
