This Thursday I will be running a special session of the new Counterinsurgency gametype at 8 EST as usual, until whenever. We'll be focusing on testing and finding bugs -- although I have checked it out pretty closely on local dedicated server, there are always issues that appear. If Counterinsurgency breaks hilariously we'll run missions instead, but I have a lot of confidence in it.
Any number of players are welcome -- the mission scales from 1 to 24 with more enemies. I will be there with Devcon running so that I can correct any critical failures, though I don't expect any.
If you don't like Evo/Domination type gameplay, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO TRY COUNTERINSURGENCY. This is a totally different experience, and I've worked quite hard to make it feel like you aren't playing a dynamic scenario, but one carefully crafted for every single engagement. There's a lot more action and lot less stand-off fighting before you actually move into the town. In many ways, it is more realistic, more tense, and more engaging than even some of my best canned missions.
