Old thread I know, but does anyone have any feedback on this? I just found it on Steam and am curious if there's tutorials since the release a few years ago. Thanks

Extremely good (yes I am Biased to hell) tactical battalion level and lower game. No official tutorials. There are roll overs and a more or less training mode. This is just the sort of game you have to muck around in. Both on sim hq, the steam forums and graviteam forums folks will try and answer questions.

The interface was reworked quite away's back. There are some how to vids on youtube somewhere. But 3 evenings and you have the basics down.

Thanks Flashburn. I've seen your name splashed all over Steam and here and I'd hoped you would be the 1st to surface on this. Are your mods available for this title too or just SABOW?

Some stuff for GTOS. But all for various DLC's. With Gtos I just never really took off with making stuff after the now likely dead Longstop thing sort of hit a wall. Trying to make the Allies in North Africa was way to much for one art guy...me and 1 programmer. Although the map was not far from done. Other wise just some little stuff for Sokolovo dlc and Shield of the prophet dlc. Other stuff I did is just comes with a couple of the modern DLC's. Honestly would be quite happy to just make historically correct vehicles and gear all day every day. But, then there is that money thing... biggrin

At this point waiting for the next game Mius to see what tickles me to go make. Probably finally finish my su2 (which does not belong in the time frame or area of operations UGH) and make the flak 30/38 I keep meaning too.

its just hard to motivate myself to finish this thing for GTOS when Muis is not far off. Man this SU2 has had EVERYTHING go wrong that can go wrong happen. Well apart from a total loss of the source files that is.

Looks great for what's there. Perhaps I should wait for the Mius addition too. I hope they include a tutorial....

Do you have an ETA on Mius?

No idea when Mius is released. It really is a case of when its done with no final date I think.

Roger, understand. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this and SABOW. It looks great! Admittedly, never got much into SABOW as it just never caught my fancy like Steel Beasts. Although I really liked the idea of Cold War steel, I preferred it be actual NATO/Pact countries over Iraq/Iran. Also, liked where they were moving into Middle East, but that seemed a while ago. Seeing your signature, perhaps I should re-look this title and the Middle East mods.

I always like the Angola bit. The Susangerd area of Iran IMO was missing something. Was my least favorite bit. The Soviet Afgan thing I thought was a nice touch. ANd its map made a good play ground for tank on tank fighting.

I would say the entire game could have been all about the border war in Angola/South Africa and it would have been quite nice. The Hooper DLC from GTOS suggests that it could actually be successful (was the most sold DLC for GTOS).

Is the Hooper DLC available on their website? I didn't see it on Steam, unless Hooper refers to the Developers.

Hooper and shield are the last 2 DLC's that have not made it to steam just yet. It sounds like soon they will make it over there.

I am unclear if they will get some minor tweaks over the current gamersgate version or not. Andrey made a statement I did not quite understand. But at anyrate all versions from the various sellers will be the same across the board. That is what happened so far.
