I have to admit, I'm a sucker for films with good dialogue. I can sit fascinated at an extremely long scene that only has two people talking if the conversation is worth listening to. I'd rather watch a quiet movie with intelligent conversation than an action packed, 3D effects, mindless special effects bonanza.
I think that's why I've always enjoyed some of the Tarantino movies. The scene in Kill Bill Vol. 2 when Uma Thurman and Carradine are having the conversation right before she puts the smackdown on him.. Great stuff. The beginning of Reservoir Dogs when they are in the diner..
It is also why despite the other atrocities in Apocalypse Now Redux (the Playboy bunnies and the stupid added scenes with Kilgore), the Plantation scene is great cinema for me.
What is your favorite dialogue scene in a movie?
