Christoph Waltz is the actor and the scene you described is indeed fantastic.

+1 that scene had me set for the rest of the movie, brilliant.

That guy totally creeped me out.

He's a brilliant creepy/somewhat humorous guy in Inglorious Basterds, and he actually didn't do too bad in the "Green Hornet" as the villain.

"I'm not scary enough?"

He ALMOST has that cool Christopher Walken thing going for him. smile

The original short film "Some Folks Call It A Sling Blade", which ended up becoming Billy Bob Thorton's hit "Sling Blade" was an awesome one sided conversation with Molly Ringwald interviewing Karl Childers (Thorton). Plus the creepy commentary by Charles Bushman (J.T. Walsh) in the asylum.

R rating for language and content.

Glenn Gary Glenn Ross. A room full of veteran actors doing some of their best work. Oh, and some young punk in a fancy cars threatening to give you steak knives, and STILL not give you the new leads!

First time I saw it, I didn't really "get" it. I mean, I knew what was going on, on a surface level, but I didn't "get" the psyche behind their words, didn't know what sales meant really. Didn't appreciate the pressure. Or the skill it took to write it, and act it well.

Second time I saw it, was after I had a fair bit of sales experience. Had done the whole leads thing. Cold calls. Experienced financial pressure. Oh yea. That's when this movie meant something. Useless circular logic running around in your head..."if only I could get the good leads". First prize. Second prize. Third prize...yea, it's tight.

I can't recall fully, but I think "Boiler Room" was pretty good for dialogue too.

LOVE movies with taut dialogue!

Give that, however, and some of the great examples given above, the only new one I could come up with may not even qualify, but it sticks in my mind:

From "Lonesome Dove", Woodrow Call: [after beating a man nearly to death for hitting Newt he climbs on his horse and looks at the horrified towns people]

How about most of the Kevin Smith movies? "Clerks" is ALL about the dialogue and it's great. smile
