Ever have one of those games that you just wish was supported and improved upon due to the high potential, either by the developer or the community? Sure... theres tons of games like that... one for me is WW2 Battle Tanks... simple yet not too simple... not as sim as say Steel Fury... but definitely not no arcade... such great, wasted potential for this title... well i re-installed it with my new system, (specs in my sig)... and even thou not as deep as i would like... still great fun to get in and destroy some tanks with your tank... while your AI teammates go get themselves killed without helping much in the battle... lol...

Hey, nice! Is this game for tanks what Strike Fighters 2 is for planes?

Ah so true Magnum. I still fire up my copy from time to time and wonder what could have been with this title frown The really sad part is the only guy to make any headway with this title mod wise chose the pay for mods option rather then the free to the community option. If this person would have went with the latter option and shared what he knew with other modders this game would have had a robust following akin to SFK42.

Nice screens Magnum. And you are right...it did have so much potential. Was a shame it was left to die. I was so disgusted with it upon release that I threw my copy in the garbage and vowed never to preorder anything from an unknown, untested developer/publisher again.

We, PzU are still plodding away at the MMP mod, we have a pretty stable version of multiplayer now. We often have 6-10 beta testers all in game and don't have many issues now.

Just this week we have managed to fix one of the major annoyance of TvT in mp. The ability of other players to see you behind hills at distance. This was due to terrain lod'ing and after speaking to one of the Russian dev's, we were told it was hard coded. We have managed to side step that and now have it working as you would expect.

Underneath the center cross hair is a commander in the Tiger turned out, this was never possible in MP as the whole tank would be visible at this distance.

I was part of the original Beta Test Team for this one, and it was very frustrating as we tried to tell the developer what it needed to be a real success. At the end of the day it came down to staying within the available time and money they had allotted, and we couldn't fault them for having real world business limitations.

The hand full of people that have kept this alive are to be commended for what they've been able to fix since this was initially released.
