Last week I did a Corsair H60 install and no problems. Yesterday Installed my new video card and I started playing Clod with no problem, then the game froze and when I started back up. No joystick on any games and it is not listed in my hardware device manager. I put in the Sidewinder II disc and it says my version of file not compatible with the windows version. It was OK for the last 3 years on this system. Anyone know where to download free upgrade drivers for this joystick for Windows Vista 64x? If its time to get a new joystick, I need one with the twisting handle to control the rudders as I have problems with foot movement and would have difficulty with pedals. Any suggestions on new joysticks compatible with Vista 64x?

No drivers for the Sidewinder since XP. But my Sidewinder 2 works great in Win 7 64.

Oh, I see you are on Vista.

Thanks Speedbump. It doesn't make sense, since it was working perfectly before. If it works with Windows 7 it should work with Vista? Well It looks like I wasted another fine day to fly. On the bright side my case looks good and I'm downloading my free version of Dirt3. I hooked up my Logitech dual action and it was recognized immediately without the start up disc which I can't find. Got to go steam just finished download. mycomputer

Vista and Win7 should work the same regarding drivers; the ones you use when you plug in the SWFFB2 are all you get.

You'll have to do your tweaking in-game. Fortunately, a lot of modern titles give you plenty of control over the curves and FFB and so forth.

I would think it would work with Vista but don't know. If it was working before, I'm wondering if you are having issues with your USB ports. Maybe something to do with this...

On/Off Charge Technology
GIGABYTE On/Off Charge technology allows you to charge your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch regardless of whether your PC is on, in standby mode or even off. A derivative of GIGABYTE's highly acclaimed 3x USB Power feature, On/Off Charge enables devices to draw more current from GIGABYTE motherboard USB ports than standard USB ports allow, so that charging from your PC can be as fast as with a charger.

Well, there appeared to be something wrong with the joystick's USB connection. I have 7 USB connections available and the all recognized other hardware, but no sensor for this joystick when plugged in. I hated the thought of retiring it, but I went out and purchased a Logitech 3D Extreme Pro. No problem setting up and played some Clod. It will take some getting used to, but it is easier to keep plane flying true. Seems so stiff compared to my sidewinder which may have worn a little loose after nearly 15 years use and abuse. Back to gaming. beercheers

I'd be interested in hearing how long that Logitech stick lasts. I started off with a Sidewinder FFB2 and loved it until it died. I bought the Logitech 3D Extreme Pro stick a few years ago, but it didn't last very long until the return spring weakened and the axis began to develop creep making mechwarrior or any flight games downright frustrating. "Buyer Beware!"
