Is that a decent upgrade from a HD4890 ? or anything else recommended?

Im a tad out of the loop at what cards do what these days! Would prefer to stay with an ATI card if possible....

Cheers smile

I's a decent upgrade, but do yourself a favour and look at the 6950 instead:

The 1GB version is only 15 quid away. That's a medium or large pizza at Domino's. smile With the release of the AMD 7970, prices might drop a bit when it arrives on the shelves (January 9th) :

What is the OS version you have and how much RAM is in your system? If you're on Win7 64Bit, there is a 2GB option that is another 20 quid further:

Yeah I would definitely skip the 6870 as it was actually slower than the 5870, the 6950 2GB and the 6970 would be the more logical step up IMHO especially if you plan to do Eyefinity at some point.

No room for eyfinity! Just want to ramp up settings on Black Shark / DCS A-10 and get some form of acceptable frame rate v something that resembles terrain in CloD

Will probably wait until mid January now, as I hate paying for something and seeing the price drop through the floor within a week or two! May see what teh 7xxx series prices are like, as would be aiming in the £150 - 200 MAX range, its either that or a second SSD... as the first SSD I have now made a massive difference in a few games
