Sorry Ajay me man, can't say, however Birds of Steel makes this claim - 'The finest details are the most critical in the new physics and damage models. Controlling speed is a direct result of effect manipulation of the ailerons, and rudders. Each plane has over 100 hitpoints where each part of the plane has its own health and damage detection.'

How all that plays out in WOP I'm not sure

I love game claims wink If we went by game claims we would all still be playing the very first sim we ever brought biggrin

I rewatched that vid and the 1.26-1.28ish i mentioned above is indeed a hit by a plane coming from above. The cockpit view action plane does not actually get his sight or bullets on target. Good to see , so i imagine it must not be hitboxes but hit points on the plane.

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011

Wonder what that means? "I need to slow down quick, better do a barrel roll!"

This statement from their FAQ: "Generally, we tend to stick to logic: one or two well-aimed salvos of machine gun fire, and almost any plane will be doomed. In addition to the overall consistency with historical facts, this gives the game its intensity and drive." leads me to believe it's going to be a lot of super explody Hollywood stuff rather than going for accuracy. P47s getting blown of the sky after a short burst from .303s and such. I'd love to be wrong.

I agree that two bursts of "well-aimed" salvos should take any aircraft out of the fight, but most flyers weren't very good marksmen. Then it will depend on how large the hit box are if thats how the damage is modelled.
