The awards are out, and Skyrim picked up a number of awards:

- Best RPG
- Best PC game
- Best Xbox game
- Game of the Year

lol! These "awards" just go to prove that sales determines "best game" instead of actual content (or lack thereof). Skyrim is an excellent game; but it's definitely a lazy port to the PC plagued with some issues (some of which have been around since the Gamebryo engine).

If it wasn't for the mod-ability of their games, Bethsoft would have went under years ago IMO

It may well be a lazy port, but by design and content I still think it deserves the titles. Technologically it's certainly not the cutting-edge-pushing masterpiece, but Bethesda simple knows what makes good gameplay.

It does suffer of some flaws on its implementation mechanics...but in terms of content, it's really hard to beat.

It could be analogous to a good book that got published in a bad media. The book might be difficult to hold on to, but you just can't put it down.

Fortunately, this book can be, and it is being, improved. And I think this one is a better development platform or Oblivion and Morrowind (even if Morrowind's story and RPG'ness was better). Once the Creation Kit is released, and once the data errors (bogus quests) are fixed, this game will shine.

I personally have not found a better non-sim gaming experience this year.

That said, I would give the game of the year award to Falcon BMS instead. winner
