BTW nice new un-announced enhancement in 2.0.2, you can now enable/disable HUD items:
Options->General->Race Display

You can individually turn off Speedometer RPM, Suggested Gear (this one especially is nice to disable), Tyre Load, Time or Driver list.

Really enhances the quasi cockpit view for standard cars which you need to use the speedo/rev counter but had all that extra arcade crap HUD.

Glad to see PD still keep tuning and enhancing GT5 with the DLC cars and track(s) (Spa!) it has brought new interest for me, I may just do a 4hr endurance race this weekend for good ole times sake.

Ah I'll have to buy that cop skyline next time I see it in the used car dealer, should be fun online with the lights on.

BTW DLC #2 is out now, and looking on GTP, it seems that there were more hidden changes with 2.0.2 sound:

I think I notice the clutch and physics being better but maybe that is placebo, not sure, one thing is I am really enjoying driving GT5 today :-)

when, if ever will they clean up the racing interface... loading a race only to find out you don't have the right car, etc to go back, buying what you think is the car you need, only to find out it's not... repeat.

thats the number 1 reason I don't do anything but time trials and arcade races.

True the sound is not as good as FM4 (no other car sim has that great sound IMHO) but they really did improve the engine sound and most importantly they reduced the sound of the transmission whine which usually drowned out whatever engine sound was there to make all the engines have that racing transmission "sewing machine" whine which I hated, even on road cars which was ridiculous.

Now we can actually hear the improved engines, I'm very happy with the whine being gone especially since I use H-Shifter + heel-toe braking it was super apparent when I was downshifting and dropping the car in the lower gear as the tranny matched revs.

Magnum now when you go to enter a Seasonal event and your car doesn't qualify, you get a little popup window with the "Entry Requirements" and if you click on the "Garage" button on that window it takes you to your garage showing only your cars that meet those requirements (i.e. American cars 548PP-579PP for the Stars and Stripes challenge), you can then pick the car you want out of that list, do "Change Car" and when you exit out of your Garage you should now be back at that same "Seasonal Event" with a car that qualifies.

I know they didn't have that feature originally, but they've added a few improved menu things like that in the last few updates, give it a try and see.

BTW Magnum I just sent you a Mine's Skyline which I just got as my "1000 races" ticket car but I already had one... I really wish GT5 would check your garage and not gift you duplicates for such a cool ticket like that.

Overall though I really love this 2.0.2 update, the sound and HUD improvements really make a big difference in the immersion for the way I drive in cockpit view, that combined with the recent updates and the cockpit-lite camera for standard cars made it so I spent a bunch of hours in GT5 today having fun instead of my usual 30mins hotlapping before going on to some other sim. It's brought GT5 back to fun for me especially with Spa and FT-86 DLCs to master.

Those settings you sent me were great Kludger... I jacked up the in game to 3 instead of 1 thou, like more feel.

BTW, was doing one of those Stars and Stripes races, rolled my open cockpit Shelby 12 times, lol... saved the replay... wish they allowed movie making in game... but I did notice one of the options on the clip is "export to save data"; any idea what that is?

HOW TO EXPORT REPLAY DATA OUT OF GT5
================================
Before we begin, please remember you are copying GT5 data onto a backup drive. You may want to have a separate flash drive: one for save data and one for replay data.

Start up GT5, go to GT Mode, Replay Theater. It will bring up a window with a list of all the replays you have saved. If you want to export multiple replays, you will need to hold down L1, just like with exporting photos. Hit TRIANGLE and choose the option "Export to Save Data." You need to do this because all the replays are saved in GT5's game data. They are not discrete files to be copied yet. Once you click on "Export to Save Data," a window will pop up with "This process may take some time. Are you sure?" Click "Yes." After clicking "Yes," it will bring up a save menu. Choose "New Replay Data." It will ask, "Do you want to save this data?" Hit "Yes."

Exit GT5, go to "Game" on the XMB, scroll to "Save Data Utility (PS3)." Scroll to the GT5 replay you just saved, hit TRIANGLE, "Copy" and choose where you want to save it. Choose the flash drive and wait for it to save.

After it's saved, pull out the drive from the PS3 and plug it into your PC. Double click on the drive and you will see a "PS3" folder. You must preserve the hierarchy of the folder, so just drag the entire "PS3" folder from the drive onto your Desktop or wherever is convenient for you. Compress the folder with whatever compression utility you like. I usually use 7-Zip.

Congratulations, you can now upload or send the file however you want.

==================================
HOW TO IMPORT REPLAY DATA FROM PC INTO GT5
==================================
Before we begin, please remember you are copying GT5 data onto a backup drive. You may want to have a separate flash drive: one for save data and one for replay data.

Download the compressed file, decompress it. The folder should come out something like "PS3/SAVEDATA/BCUS98114-RPL002/<bunch of files here>." Drag the entire decompressed "PS3" folder and its contents onto the backup drive. Unplug the flash drive from the PC.

Plug in the flash drive into your PS3. If you did everything right, you should now see the replay data when you go to XMB > "Game" > "Save Data Utility (PS3)" > flash drive. If you didn't copy the data correctly onto the flash drive, it will show up as "Corrupted Data." Hit TRIANGLE and copy the replay to your PS3. If you don't copy the data from the thumb drive onto the PS3, it will not show up in GT5.

Start up GT5, go to GT Mode, Replay Theater. Near the bottom of the screen, above the red "Close" icon and "Search/Sort" icon, will be the "Import" icon. Click on "Import" and choose the replay. After it's imported, it will show up in your list of replays. Enjoy.
