Has anyone tried this game with 3D? Specially at 1280x720?

The reason is this: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...=HMZT1#features

By the way, there is another company that says will offer a HMD at 1080p, but they have little to show at the moment.

My Laptop is 3D and I watch the blackdeath track with it on. Wasn't really that impressed and I wouldn't be that interested in flying with it on. Got enough headgear on with TIR and head phones to add a pair of glasses, also they give me headaches. No idea what the cockpit looks like with it on.

This would be where you would have the greatest effect from 3D. Anything beyond 25-30 feet has a very small effect in 3D. The canopy frame and the wings will give you the greatest sense of being in a 3D environment. Also there is where you will see if the collimating gunsight works correctly in 3D.

Sony's HMZ-T1 is available now, the Carl-Zeiss Cinemizer 720p should be available in the 1st quarter of 2012. Don't know when the SiliconMicroDisplay ST1080 might be available for consumers. Their page says pre-order starts this month at the same price point as Sony's model, but you might want to sign up for the newsletter to get an early heads-up.

3D will increase realism, I really like TrackIR but since you have the screen fixed in front of you that spoils the sensation a little, another advantage of those glases is their apparent superficial area, the ST1080 equals to a screen around 100" at 10 feet.

That seems worse to me, 100" at 1280x764 res? Those blocks are going to look huge.

All these have a FOV of 45 degrees. So they could all claim to have a screen of X size at Y distance. Only the ST1080 has FullHD (1080p), the other two are 720p. We'll have more luck trying the Sony HMZ-T1 in a store though, as Sony has more market penetration.

45 degrees FOV, so the perceived distance to the screen depends on the user's imagination.

It wonīt be a problem, since the screen is 10 feet away, add a little antialiasing. The real problem is the low game resolution, the gauges couldnīt be clear at only 720p, thatīs why I was asking if someone plays at that resolution.
