I'm hoping some of our international (non-US) members can chime in on this but does anyone know of any sci-fi shows that are currently being produced or were recently produced in countries besides the US, Canada and the UK? At least shows that have some degree of notoriety?

For example, do France and Germany make any indigenous sci-fi shows or is there no market for that in those countries?

Thanks.

There probably are in Japan, but who knows if you could ever understand them!

There is a kids scifi program on here that is localy produced but my kids turn it off as it is really bad and after seeing it for 5 minutes I agree with them, dunno what it is called tho. It is a Flemmish production.

France I have no idea.

But Germany DOES have a market for sci-fi! And they do make movies...they just don't make them IN Germany. See, the Germans bring their money to Canada and make sci-fi shows! I'm forgetting a few, but the one I do remember is "Lexx"

I've heard of "Lexx" but have never seen it. I've heard from others though that it was a pretty eccentric show. smile

Lexx...I've seen most of the early eps...it's...um...

Odd. Weird. Dumb. Funny. Cheezy. Gross. Funny. Silly. Occasionally sexy. Amusing. Dumb. Silly. Gross. Funny.

It would never appeal to everyone. But some find it amusing. A few seem to love it. I found it interesting and cool at first, but then just amusing, and tired quickly of it. I have no idea how anyone would respond to it...the only way to know is to watch the first episode...if you can get to the finish of the pilot/movie, and want to see the regular first season, then you'll know.
