g'day ray...
1. would it be possible to delete the rotating prop spinners on your semi HR mossie model?... in reality spinners actually do not appear to not rotate ... the under shadowing on them also does not rotate with the spinner movement but remains static as it's a shadow, the rotating cones also give the impression of a slower speed. 2. spinner cones still don't flush up with the engine cowlings at some angles..
if this is not possible ...no probs m8, will rejuvenate an earlier version ....

Ade,
Not sure where that model came from but I can tell you I've never added those slow spinning spinners to anything I've ever built. I can't stand them as they're not realistic.
I'll send you an original version with static spinners and I'll post a copy to my page at talley-ho.

I added them, not Ray. I did it because, the hubs didn't look right in their original form. Finally, this model doesn't work in Glide mode (there are rendering problems with the wings) and well, I've been trying to fix that problem but now I'll stop that too. And after all the criticism of this skin I'm just going to ask Sandbagger to delete it. Then someone else can paint it and post their version and I'll finally have washed my hands of it for good. Request for deletion has been sent.

Funny how the world works. I'm about to send the last version I have over to Talley-ho for posting to my page.

The Mossie has been removed from my page, ya'll can do what ever you want to with that model. I am not going to revisit it anytime soon . I guess I am too thin skinned to deal with the constant criticism over it. I've spent the better part of 2 months on it and well, that has just been too much.

Guys.
I'm a bit disappointed with what has happened about the Mossie project.
I was personally encouraging Mike to fix the RS problems with the outer wings, for himself, with my help. He was doing well, fixing the problems, until this all blew up. I don't really care who I upset, but the stupid comments, which have been posted regarding Mike's version of Ray's model, are ridicules.
If you don't like turning spinners, you don't use Mike's model and skins. It's all a question of taste, and certainly nothing to get personal about.
We all give our work freely, for others to enjoy, and because of that, no one has the right to run down another persons work. You either like it, or you don't.
It's that simple!
There are only 6 days left until Christmas. Lets enter the time of good will unto all men, in peace and harmony.

I expressed my personal preference which is allowed in this venue.
Note that I didn't suggest anyone else should avoid using the turning spinners.
As for Mike taking down his skins, that's his choice and I respect it, however since it was a team effort I'm free to post a base model on my page.
There certainly won't be as many nice skins to chose from but the model will be there for others to use and skin as they see fit.

gibbo as u can read on this thread, neither ray or myself knew IM's version had rotating props prior to dowmloading it. ray has since sent me his original static prop version to work on, i've also rejuvenated the default LR mossie updated some time ago by 'red eyes' - this will do for the time being...

Hi John,I've re-read all the posts in this thread and couldn't find any expressions of direct criticism but rather only observations and/or opinions of personal likes and dislikes. I think that it maybe a good idea to have both options (rotating verse non-rotating) available to the community and let the end user decide which to use. and I whole heartily agree with your closing statement... "There are only 6 days left until Christmas. Lets enter the time of good will unto all men, in peace and harmony."Cheers mates and Merry Christmas to all David PS: John, delete that email immediately

Mike, as a totally uninvolved observer on this thread can I just add the comment that I didn't read any of the comments as personal attacks or critisisms of your work per se, only indications of some peoples own preferences in terms of some of the features, perhaps you are a bit too close to this project and feel offended by people's comments but I am sure they were not meant to hurt or offend. The community here has a great deal of respect for the work you have been doing and will hopefully continue to do. cheers, Pobs

I am thinking here that because I didn't repaint the prop hub from the static version that the rotation (read shadow) is seen as a problem. The shadow should disappear and the rotation help conceal the nacelle problems that I had hoped to hide. I am going to repaint it and test it to prove my theory. I'm not going to put that skin back out unless the rendering problems are corrected. There are too many folks who wouldn't like having the upper wing camo displaying on the underside of the wing to put out a glide version. Meanwhile later that evening... Hubs repainted to white (the shadow has been overpainted)...
