There was no option to turn tree shadows off in 1.1.1.0, now there is. Tree Shadows seemed to be a bit of a FPS hog for some people.

I took the Patch download instead of the Full this time; because the first post here points to that.

My Warthog HOTAS system has many 'shifted' keys using the Paddle Switch. With this 1.1.1.1 Patch the 'Paddle' Modifier Name was not recognized any longer. But once I Added the Modifier = 'Paddle' then all of the conflicts in Options Controls were cleared and my Warthog was restored to full functionality.


The Options Controls first shows up on Views, so be sure to switch it to A-10 Sim before digging into it (or you will wonder where the Axis assignments went!)

Wrecking Crew

This patch keeps giving me a dcs.exe error right before the video would normally kick on, the menu and load screens work fine. . I even deleted the entire program and reloaded the whole thing again, but I have the same problem. Any ideas ?

I am running XP-Pro with an NVIDIA 240GT.

Try the full install instead of the patch? And follow the directions to get the Microsoft DirectX and C++ for your system - 32 bit (x86) vs 64.

Also remember not to "re-use" old keymaps. Always best to re-map everything with each game version, that way you'll be sure everything works correctly.

Sorry guys I should have been a little more clear. After the update crashed, I completely deleted the original DCS file and did the complete game re-install. It still gives me the exact same error as the patch only install. It's really odd because I have sixty some-odd games installed and have never had an issue before.

How did you download your full-install? Might be a corrupted download? I would recommend downloading via torrent as it checks the files before declaring it "complete."

Have you tried the 32-bit fix linked above?

The torrent is what I used, but I am going to redo it all over again anyway.

I deleted the old and downloaded the full install again. Same exact issue. It's just bizarre, everything runs perfect right up until the point where the load screen switches to game play and I get a dcs.exc needs to close box. I can pull up the error box with the offending code but I don't understand it.

Might be best to post in the official ED forums, if you haven't already. Official DCS guys frequent that more often and might be able to offer more specific help, sorry.
