What do you guys think of this addon. Would you recommend it? What do you like and dislike about it?
Thanks!

Its an amazing plane. If you like flying airliners, you wont find a better one IMO. Everything works as you would expect and considering its complexity, frames rates are smooth and fluid (at least on my system). Its only draw back is a steep learning curve. You really have to commit yourself to learning it and be patient. Its also one of the more expensive addons, but you get what you pay for.

Thanks Scoobe,
Would you recommend the manuals that they sell for it or what comes with the plane is sufficient to learn the systems?

Ive been using the help of a friend of mine who use to fly the 737-700, for assistance. There are some tutorials on youtube and other stuff online to help. Id try that first and see if its enough. If not, get the manuals. I dont have them, but thought about getting them. Im also thinking about taking an "Angle of attack online training course for it. For now, Im trying to get as much info as I can out of my friend before he gets tired of answering my questions, but I think he's enjoying playing with it as much as I am.

This add-on is, bar none, worth every penny of the cost if you are looking for a hyper realistic aircraft. I stumbled on it myself as I was getting a type rating in the real 737-800 aircraft.
I actually use this add-on to stay current/fluid on fmc work and RNP approaches as well as aircraft checklist flows and systems knowledge.
If you just want a "cool" 737 add on to fly don't get it....if you want the world's most realistic desktop based simulation...buy it, you will love it.
As for manuals, don't buy anything. The add-on comes with the Boeing FCOM's and you can google and find every resource of the 737 you would ever need.

Now I have no life anymore and my wife is mad because I spend too much time playing with this addon...

A few weeks ago I was taxiing to the runway, braking as I always did with other add-ons. Take-off was normal, V1, Rotate, V2, positive rate so gear up... and immediately the fire bell went off. Scariest sound I've ever heard in a sim - talk about immersion. I checked the QRH (if you want to print a useful document, print that one!): There was an overheat situation in the wheel well, due to my excessive braking.

After landing - fortunately I was lightly loaded - I installed carbon brakes and was a bit more careful taxiing from then on...

BTW Aerosoft has the boxed version of this PMDG 737 NGX as part of their 25% off sale, so instead of $80 it was $52.50 when I ordered.

I'm a bit intimidated by it but the amount of sim in this one from all the videos and first hand reports looks worth it to give it a go.
