The Bottom Line for GTR2?

If the words "No CD" mean anything, search for that quote at No Grip.
Xenon Headlights by Spuddy (or equivalent... also at NoGrip)
Super GT 500 mod v3.0 (at No Grip.. again)
Tracks... I'll leave it up to you, but Lemans, Sebring, Mid Ohio, Fuji... by VLM: all best-available versions IMO.

For the Simbin titles, GTR2 and Race07 / GTR Evo / Race On -and-the-addons... in case it hasn't be obvious, No Grip Racing is an outstanding source.

I'd agree that GTR2 is the most complete off-line sim-racing title available. That's a semi-sad statement given the release date.
GTR2 is also not-so-good for on-line racing, which is where rFactor shines. (Get both... at least.)
cheers

You can go to this site and get an online code ....for free.

I have gotten functional codes for used discs I bought from from ebay.

PS to madzaw...get a cheap copy of GT Legends and download the fantastic Power & Glory mod....or wait for version 3 of P&G which will not require the GTL disc for install.

That's right GTinSD. And they didn't put my email on a spam list either. Amazing actually!

Hill, there is always open non-password servers in the GTR2 lobby....and it all depends on what type of cars interest you.

There are various leagues still running GTR2 using various classes. Race2Play hosts quite a few and if you like the Power & Glory mod, All In Sim Racing will be starting a P&G fun series starting 12/28/2011 on Wed nights US time.

Get the P&G mod files here (The main P&G site is down at the moment):

Like I said, you do currently need the "GT Legends" disc when you want to install P&G, but GTL is regaining popularity now and the discs are very cheap and available:

One thing to note....Nvidia video cards made with the G92/94 chips (GT9600, GT9800) series had known CTD errors when running GTR2 online. Newer series cards and ATI/AMD cards did not have the same issues. Nvidia NEVER addressed the issue, which was why many gave GTR2 a bad rap about online issues.
