I'm currently flying a German career and in my last mission I apparently shot down a Nieuport 17 which was manned by a German pilot! LOL

Yes. My Jasta 2 pilot bagged a DH2 that was German. It had British markings in-game and I didn't think anything of it until I saw the mission debrief. I'll post the details later.

While where talking about bugs, I've been flying a career with 3AFC flying RE8's. Here's a couple of issue I've noticed
1. On some Ground Attack Patrols, the flight leader starts in enemy territory and is instantly captured. 2. On some Ground Attack Patrols, the convoy your supposed to bomb is missing and you can't complete the mission. 3. On Artillery Spotting Patrols, 90% of the time, its in the same location with the targets in the same grid square. I don't even need to look now, it just fire at C6 in the first target location and F7 at the second. This makes these mission incredibly boring.

It's best if you post these sorts of bugs at the official ROF forums, along with the attached gen_Mission file from the /data/Missions folder. That's the quickest way for the devs to investigate what is internally wrong with the mission.

Hi LukeFF,
The official ROF are not the nicest place if you wish to criticise ROF, even if your 'criticism' is only posting bugs you've found. I'd rather post here in a much more friendly enviroment and if the devs see it, they do, if they don't, the don't.

Spoon There's mindlessly criticising the game and then there's assisting the devs by highlighting bugs in the mission logic of the campaign. Don't confuse the two.

I see people regularly post issues there all the time without being shouted down by others, and like I said it's the quickest and easiest way for the devs to become aware of issues that they can then examine. Han, for one, responds to practically every Technical Support thread there, and other devs chime in as they can in an entirely civil manner. EDIT: +1 to Brigstock's comment.

Posted waded throught the ROF site, finally located the correct english forum, finally found the right page and posted the bugs I'd found.
I received a reply that I need to produce a _gen.Mission file????? or the dev's wouldn't do anything.
I'm really really sorry I brought this up. I was just trying to help.
Sorry

And so you quickly concluded that the RoF forum is not welcome for bug reporting ... Any forum search, or further questioning about _gen.Mission, would have told you this: that when you fly a career mission, inside your mission folder RoF generates a _gen.Mission file, which will be overwritten by another one when you advance to another career mission. The devs would need such _gen.Mission file, when you have a mission error, to *see* what was the exact problem. So the best help you can give them in such cases is to describe the error and attach that 'culprit' _gen.Mission file. A nice side effect - if you like a particular career mission, you can save that _gen.Mission by opening it in Mission Editor and renaming/resaving it (and of course, you can edit it if you want).

Spoon I'm curious why you found the Official forum so challenging to navigate? I went to http://riseofflight.com and at the top are several links, including in the top center: Community. Clicking that link takes me to the list of forums and a quick scan shows there are two sets of sub-forums: one for English speakers and one for Russian speakers (the dev team are Russian). The English forums are listed first and a scan of those reveals one called Technical Support (Game, Updates & Bugs). Except for the extra forums in Russian, all of the above is pretty typical for web forums, which is why I am puzzled about the difficulty. I found your report there and I have to say I don't see the hostility you are talking about. You got a single, honest answer about what is needed to help diagnose the problems you were reporting (and no comment saying the devs wouldn't do anything) and you inexplicably bowed out and asked for the thread to be deleted. Much too sensitive, in my opinion.

Sorry What is there to be sorry about? I explained to you both here and at the ROF forums what you needed to do to help solve your problem, yet now you want your thread over there deleted. Huh? Do you want help with solving this bug or do you not?

Honestly, I find the Russian forum so damned confusing and counter-intuitive to use that I rarely go there and even more rarely post there. Maybe it a culture thing, but it is confusing to some.

The English-language section of the forum is now a hundred times more easier to navigate than in the past. People who find it confusing just aren't trying hard enough.
