I'm excited about and looking forward to seeing the two new maps in my favorite online game: Tanks! Tanks is my favorite because I love team based action and shooting big guns to virtually annihilate my opponents.

I also can't wait to see one of the "rare" bugs that seems to happen to me all the time get fixed. The one where when you switch between first person and third person and it spins your view around. Very annoying. Especially when you're trying to keep your turret pointed in one direction.

Have to mention that there's a three page Tanks poster in this months PC Gamer. It's two sided, one side has a Pershing shooting it's main gun (maybe it's a Patton)..the other side is an array of tanks in V formation facing you, similar to the video you see when you log on.

Still plugging away toward my first tier 10 tank...the T30. It's been a long, hard road with no premium, but I've got it in my sights with only 50k more xp to research it. Then I'll finally be able to participate in Clan Wars. I would have researched it earlier if I hadn't been side tracked with the free garage slots the KV, KV-3 and Panther give you. But from what I've heard of upcoming patches, my time has been well spent working towards these American heavies...I think the T34 is gonna turn into a premium tank next year.

See you on the battlefield!

After playing a good few hours on v7.0, I have mixed feelings baout ht long awaited upgrade.

The pluses:

-Camo looks fantastic, though can be pricey to equip all garaged vehicles with permanent camo

-2 new maps, got to play on one last night and it looked fantastic. Lets not forget the birds addition.....

The minuses:

-Camo is only eye candy for the moment. Meant to be addressed in next patch for functionality.

-Soviet tier 8-10 guns seemed to own me every match I played in tier 8-10 vehicles, which were my Jagdtiger, Jagdpanther, Tiger, Tiger II, E75, Panther and Panther II. I could be wrong, but noticed my guns took many more shots to kill someone(5 or more) versus Soviet one shot, one kill or at msot, two shots.

-No new vehicles introduced

-Burn through more silver for repairs and re-supply than in 6.7. I consumed about 40,000 in silver, with only a gain of 55,000. So, for 3 hours of play, not a worthwhile end state compared to 6.7.

Anyway, may slow down a bit on my playing until they get this equalized a bit more. I know many will think I'm off a bit but thought the 6.7 was a bit more balanced and now seems in Soviet favor. The design team is Russian, so may have quite a bit to do with Soviet bias.

Matt

Matt, I noticed that the Fire and Explosion effects seem do be more dramatic and there are some new indications on the mini map.
The Minimap is re-sizable.
The best improvement for me is the replay system. I use it to critique myself. you can slow the replay way down great for evaluation shot placement.
