I am looking to possible get a playseat, but I have a few questions.



First is there a playseat that is compatible for both a wheel for racing and a HOTAS set for military flight sims(DCS)?

Second how mobile is the playseat? I ask because if I keep my current set up I would basicly just move my playseat into position when I wanted to use it.


Third How hard is it to get a monitor to attach to it or would it be better to go with a projector?


Please let me know if these questions are anwsered already. I would go to the playset site but I can not get to it form work.

I believe Playseats does one or the other in terms of racing/flying. I have one of the original models heavily modded to make it a Flight seat. I could swap some pieces out but it would be a chore to switch between the two. I would check out their website when you get home and look at the options available. They might have add ons you can purchase to make one a dual purpose set-up. Personally I liked the older versions that didn't have the support in between the legs

Why not just buy yourself a bucket seat and build your own custom pit?

Does the wheels lock? I got rid of my wheeled office chair the second day of owning rudder pedals. Now I'm looking into an alternative to my current chair, which is falling to pieces. However I'm not interested in something that rolls away every time I'm making a turn in my Sopwith...

side note:
I had the same "rolling away" problem in my all-in-one office chair/cockpit seat. What worked for me was creating a support base. I've concocted a simple wooden base, where the pedals are fixed with adjustable pegs (so I can vary the pedal distance to accommodate an eventual "test driver"). The base has holes for the chair wheels - sort of a desk-pilot chocks. :-)

The idea is practical and I believe there are others using similar, if not exactly the same.

^+1 I did the same thing I came across a rectangular piece of cubicle work surface and attached my entire playseat/simpit structure to it then added wheels to roll around. I'm on carpet so no posts are needed it stays where I roll it.

Simple anwser is I lack the time to build my own. I would love to but time is a big factor.

and yes there is a rolling away problem ,but there are a lot of things to fix that ,its just a very small problem.

Wondered if the plate where the throttle would go would take a Warthog throttle as the Warthog throttle seems to be quite long (anyone have the dimensions?)

This looks pretty good and should be comfy.
