Future Weapon indeed!
But, it's a new addition, and adds some interesting gameplay options. Such as interrogation, for example, and completely silent killing. If you have your pistol out/no weapon, you will punch -- takes 3 hits to kill. If you have a rifle, you will do a butt stroke. Takes two swings. If you have a heavy launcher, you will do a long animation I call "the Crusher" (it's brilliant) for a one-hit kill. You can do this to anyone as of right now; don't punch your friends!
No mods, all of these animations are built into the game! There are three different animations for punching, and four different pain animations, of differing length. Random!
This CDF officer takes out some frustrations on local citizens.
Spetsnaz officer executes 'the Crusher' on a citizen with his RPG-7. How cruel!
Spetsnaz operator comes ashore and takes out two guards without being detected.

i can see it now ... "hey tao, come ere a sec" **thud** "hey it works!"
how do AI forces react to it? does another unit have to be really close to the guy you've just knocked out to hear it or can they hear it a little ways off??

They can't hear it as an attack at all -- or at least, I don't think so. You are a perfect assassin if they cannot see you. However, they will sometimes turn and look if they hear any sound, and they do have a pretty good 'sixth sense' for if you are right behind them.

Nice find but how do you access/use them without script or a mod?

You can use the switchMove command. It's a real trick to make it work in multiplayer though! I was able to find the animations by downloading and using a mission called 'OA Animation Viewer' from Armaholic.
I'll release the scripts once I'm happy with their testing state, like all of my other future weapons.

Yes, but in the past could you strike someone over the head with an RPG-7? NO!
