Wanted to try to bring a little more realism to the game via the unknown. That unknown is of course IED's in all their dreadful forms. This is still a WIP. I understand the sensitive nature of this killer all too real. As a active duty member of the Armed Forces (Combat Engineer), I've deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq and have come face to face with them. So please, no hate mail.

I watched this when it was posted on Armaholic, and something that always gets me is how disturbing the SLX gore mod can really be. ArmA is just realistic enough that seeing the 3D models get blown apart has a physical effect -- enough that I prefer having it turned off.

That said, this looks great -- if hard to make fun for players. Any chance of a scripts-only version, or a partial script version?

The dismemberment portion isn't a requirement and never will be. The modification is a complete overhaul of the IED aspects and I have no intention of releasing a scripts only edition, it's far far too in-depth for that. I'm working on adding over-pressure and fragmentation effects at present. Also, I'm trying to include those nasty little bastards the Mujh like to place in foliage at around head level, but it's proving difficult.

Ah, I understand. I wasn't sure if this was just a set of effects/scripts or if it was a more sophisticated simulation than that. Sounds like it's the latter!

Got an update for you guys.

EDIT - I'd suggest clicking in the video and watching it in its native YT format. It's far too much scrunched down on SimHQ and you tend to miss things.

"...hard to make fun for players..."

Yeah. Don't see how you'd incorporate this in a game as anything but a crappy way to end a mission. Same reason they don't include random equipment failures...which would also be realistic.
