Freeze/stutter just before encounter--test this

Is it just my system, or do other people get a prolonged stutter (more like a second+ ) just before an encounter. This started happening a few months ago. It always occurs just before either a friendly or enemy spawns after trigger, so I would assume it is a skin, or other loading issue... HOWEVER, I have a solid state drive, there should be no loading stutter, right? My CPUs are on the older side, 4 x 2.66 GHz, and my mobo is PCIe first generation, vintage 2006. I don't know, but it has gotten to the point where I don't bother scanning the sky in anticipation of being jumped, I just wait for the stutter... I've searched for this topic here and at RoF forum, nothing recent. EDIT: deleted Task Manager screen shot, see page 4 of thread for better screen shots of the stutter event

i have this stutter annoying thing too with my 4870 xfx 1 gb gpu, I run 2 monitor in 1080p maybe we put too much stress on the card? I run driver 11.8...

When a new airplane spawns in SP there is always a pause on my machines. I assume this is because the simulation is loading the plane into memory (the higher detail bombers tend to lead to larger pauses)..

I think it's everyone else (at least in Career Mode). 1-2 second freeze when in-flight and apparently getting close to bandits. It's pretty much the early warning system. When you get the 1-2 second freeze, you'd better start looking around!

Well, that's a relief, meaning it isn't just my system or install. When a new airplane spawns in SP there is always a pause on my machines. I assume this is because the simulation is loading the plane into memory (the higher detail bombers tend to lead to larger pauses).. That is my thought, but as mentioned I have a solid state drive, so a " loading into memory" stutter shouldn't happen, certainly not a second or more for a few MB. I defer to those with more hardware knowledge, i.e. correct me if wrong. Now, this only developed relatively recently within the last few updates, and as far as I can tell, nobody else has brought this up! Strange.

It's probably the textures. I get the same thing and my system is nothing special but it's usually only half a second for me or less.

as far as I can tell, nobody else has brought this up! Strange. Actually others have brought it up, with some excellent technical analysis, and then been immediately banned for their irreverence. I am hesitant to mention names, as I am perilously close to being banned myself. [The first rule of censorship is that you don't talk about censorship.]

Well, I guess you blew the first rule...
@JB, yes, it can be as little as 0.5 sec, but definitely longer at other times, but that is truly irrelevant.

I have the same thing. A short freeze of about a second to wake me up in career mode.

Never had this; either now (see rig details below) or on my previous machine. Previous was: E8400, foxconn mobo, 2x amd 4850s, 2 gb ddr3. I was running mostly mid-high settings before, now pretty much maxed out.
