Here is what the DSMS should look like with everything set up correctly and GBU-38s selected:

For IAM bombs, the CCRP mode provides a different HUD picture:

Press and HOLD the pickle button when the solution cue (small line on the pipper reticle) is between the max- and min-range carets.

When everything goes right, someone's not going to have a good day:

Refer to pages 561-565 for more information, the "IAM Bomb Use" entry on p.564 is really useful.

Hope that helps!

Yes, you can change it under your My Stuff, Profile - look for the Display Name setting. You can also change your smiley face icon - just found this out recently - click on your smiley face at the top right of the screen.

Sometimes we drive NASCAR cars in the SimHQ Motorsports - check it out sometime.

Also if you click on the STAT page it will list the status of your 1760 stations, along with various other things. Once on that page verify that the stations loaded with JDAM are green.

Hey Guys,

@ Weaponz248 - I didn't get a chance to check with my friend last night on the issue but I will find out tonight. That being said, I'm thinking his is probably still in ALN mode. I can't recall ever asking him if the bomb was RDY. Would this possibly have anything to do with him not setting SPI via TGP? Or, would it be because of EGI, etc. issues?

@Ice/Weaponz248, so in the lower left corner of the HUD I see RDY, ARM, TGP within Ice's representative pics. All of this is related to how the bomb is Aligned, armed, and SPI'd?

@bud

In response to your first question. SPI has nothing to do with the Align, that is all on the EGI. SO if the EGI dosent spin up he wont get the bomb to align.

And for the second question, Thats is correct. ARM indicats what position your Master arm is in. In this case it is in arm. RDY indicates your bomb is ready for release. If it was still in align it would say ALN and the TGP indicats your SPI.

If possible see if you cant get a video of the cockpit during the bombing run or at least a screenshot. It would help alot to see what was going on.

Hey Guys,

Still been away from the sim. We've scheduled to fly online tonight and will take screens if we can't fix the issue.

Thanks for all the help so far!

Issue fixed, I'm thinking he was botching the auto-start a bit by messing around with buttons while the procedure was still moving forward.

I really appreciate the suggestions and offered help. Hopefully we'll all see each other in the virtual skies within the very near future.

Best,

BadK

The M/ means that you've manually selected the weapons from DSMS and any profile changes you made are NOT in effect. This is fine for the GBU-38 in the example given, but if it were perhaps a GBU-12 and you'd setup Auto-Lase in the profile that would not work since by manually selecting the weapon you skip the profile settings entirely. Just something to be aware of. HUD SOI and using DMS Left/Right is a preferred method of selecting weapon profiles.

Ah yes. I am only how figuring out how to create different weapons profiles and selecting them via the HUD and DMS L/R. I also never auto-lase as well. Thanks for pointing that out!

Yeah I love weapons profiles! It has become part of my start up procedures. I never select weapons manually.
