I read they are working on optimization and improving frame rate. I'll be playing with the demos and see if performance improves.
On my system I don't get any higher than 20frames with default settings. Not good.
I guess that within a few months performance will improve.

Nice shots!! smile

After installing the entire Global scenery that was 75gb I updated with the latest installer to 10.03b3
and was amazed how much faster it worked. run the latest installer and keep using it to update the latest
beta. It will only get better as more feedback goes in to help them tweak it to help everyone. I am good
friends with half the development team. They were here with me in Oct, when I have my X-Plane meeting
every year for the XPFW. Been using X-plane now for 12 years.

Very nice looking shots - looks a lot better than the demo. I took the Beachcraft Barron out last night and was underwhelmed. To me it looked like I was flying around in a graphic novel.

Looks really good Jim!

What kind of FPS are you seeing?

Austin has a good track record for supporting X-Plane and FPS improvements has always been an issue with him. I have no doubt that the XP10 code will be improved upon soon.

When staying away from objects like mountain scenery, I average between 30 to 40fps on my fraps counter.
around KSEA it drops down to 20 to 30 with roads set to insane and objects one step below insane. I also
have textures set at very high. The latest update really improved frame rates. Get the latest installer
and update to the latest beta. 10.03beta 3.

Flown high over clouds yet, while looking down? Does it suffer from the same "cardboard cloud textures that always stay pointed towards you", like MSFS?
