Take your time, Pat.
I have put on hold my ongoing Campaigns.
I'm planning to start a brand new one with the new AAR and the Hary Tate present...

10.3 has been submitted to COmbatAce and to 777. For CombatAce it has to be reviewed before becoming available. For 777 it has to be posted. I just this minute sent the files so please give folks a chance to do what they have to do. Change log is below.

V10.3
- Added Verified AAR
- Make your own claims - verified by automatic results
- Will not receive more victories than claimed.
- May have a claim denied
- Balloon claims must be supported by balloon kills
- Exact matches verified first
- Inexact matches if no exact match available
- Different AAR buttons replaced with "Combat results" button
- Can select preferred combat report type - verified, automatic, manual
- Verified is default
- Change by going to advanced configs, user preferences
- Added RE8
- Increased takeoff timer for engine management
Bug Fixes:
- Excessive victories in automatic report

Patrick,

I've been a big fan of your work for some time. Thank you for all that you have contributed to this community and fine game.

I did want to mention that the version currently listed as 10.3 up on CombatAce is actually still 10.1

As of this moment, the version up on 777's site is still 10.2

I am sure this will get resolved shortly, just pointing out what I noticed.

Thanks again!

Madmatt

Not sure what's up there. For a moment I thought that I might have submitted the wrong zip file, but even if I had, 10.2 was the old zip and not 10.1.

We'll figure it out.

Still haven't seen 10.3 at either Wings of Honor or via 777's link.

I can try again at CombatAce. I looked at the zip file and it definitely contains 10.3. 777 and WoH (I did send it to Gremlin) have to wait until somebody uploads it.

The readme from the ZIP at CombatAce still says 10.1. I checked the aircraft files, and there's no RE8, so I think it's still the old version. I've refreshed the page, but still no go.

Yeah, unfortunately, I haven't seen it posted yet on any of the sites that have been hosting it.

"Mission results directory doesn't exist" when I try to do AAR.

The link is in the GUI config...

This has been working in past versions...

What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: Disregard my last. Some day I'll learn to type biggrin

Hey Pat, I just flew an escort mission for the first time since you got rid of airstarts for them and it didn't go well. After traveling to the breguets I was escorting, two formations of I think six Albatros just magically spawn a thousand feet or more above me and shot down all of my pilots including me because I was at a height disadvantage in my SE5. Not only that but once I reached the breguets they just continued to fly in circles in the spot they were sitting even after the albatros started attacking.

I'm flying no.56 stationed at baizieux, date was Jan, 26 1918

Thanks for the report RedPiano. The timing is coded such that it is not supposed to happen, but obviously it did. I might even have an idea why. This can happen on any mission type if the timing calculations are not good. If you had two formations spawn independently at the same time and same place - right above you - then that is a pretty remarkable bit of bad luck smile.

P.S. If you have it please save the mission file. Being able to look at it might help me to resolve the issue. Also, what density settings are you using - low/medium/high?

P.P.S. this section of code was not altered in 10.3. It could happen with any post 9.x release.

P.P.P.S. Until I manage to review the code think of it as an instance of not being aware of the Hun in the Sun smile

Hey Pat, I'm pretty sure this is the right mission file, let me know if I need to include some other files with it.

Magic Huns

Also I can say with a high level of certainty it wasn't just hun in the sun, I started flying with far icons turned on to hunt after DFW's and there were only two flight formations on my map in close range the entire time, my SE5 squad and the Breguets. It's possible they came from off my map screen and I didn't notice but it seemed awfully suspect because it was so out of the blue and they were just instantly right in the middle of my flight.
