Since programmers discovered how to model sunglare in combat sims, they were so proud of it that put everywhere and always smile

Here follows a typical example:

As you may notice, we're not on North Pole, this notwithstanding, sun is little above horizon, at 11 a.m., flying toward south.

I miss sun ABOVE, every now and then.

Cheers,
GB

Looking on the map, it is winter time. The sun does not rise high during winter. And allot of the maps in the game are based on a winter scenario.
So there you go, nothing wrong there wink

Sure, in Sweden, but Stalingrad is same latitude of Paris. I was once in Paris during winter and can't recall sun at noon just above the horizon.

I live further south than both Paris and Volgograd (Stalingrad) and let me tell you that the days are short right now and the sun doesn't get very high in the sky around this time of year. In fact it looks about the same as your picture there. Official sunset today was at 4:45 p.m. which is brutal... I leave work and all I see is sunset. So the sun stays pretty low in the sky.

Well, I think you're right. Since Volgograd is 48°42'N and Earth's axis is inclined 23°27', if I'm not wrong (again), sun at noon in former Stalingrad should be 17°51' above the horizon; so what depicted in screenshot above looks realistic.
