I don't know what I did but, I somehow figured out how to get a viable F-18 install on my Windows 7 box using my Warthogs.

Graphics are fine @ 1920x1080 and I have figured out how to decouple yaw from my throttle w/o messing any other axis up!

SO STOKED!!!!!

FYI Up until now I had been playing on a dedicated Win98/DX7 box that I built just for JF-18.

But, I wanted to start playing online again and would not be able to as the voice chat clients for 98 no longer work on modern servers.

I could be wrong but, the modern vent and TS servers will not let the old clients that still support Win 98 connect anymore, right?

Dunno, but now you're playing it on Windows 7 now, right?

You could of just used your voice clients on your newer rig, while flying on the old rig.

If there is a God, you can bet he flies an F/A-18....but only because the F-14 was retired!

Oh my good fortune! Not only are my throttles no longer manipulating my in game rudder... my rudder pedals are actually working properly!!! I fought with this to the point of frustration when I first got my Warthog. I wish I knew how I did it but, I'm not gonna waste time trying to figure it out! There is a red carrier out there and I have a Harpoon under my wing with it's name on it

Bad news with the good though... First graphics problem has cropped up. When I am looking at my radar in say my right MFD, the far left of it's horizon bar is projected onto the center mfd. Just a minor annoyance so far. In no way diminishing the fun I am having

And yeah Dragon, I am certainly waiting for the Strike Fighters Tomcat game. It was always my favorite Jet

Using compatibility mode on the .exe to get it working?

It was required to install but I do not use that to play.

I think I encountered the ramp strike bug last night It was an ugly approach but, certainly not worthy of an explosion!

As I was working my way back to the boat tonight on mission 3 (ID blockade runners) I brought up my FPAS page and realized I may have been over max trap weight last night and not the victim of the ramp strike bug. Fail on me.

I never had any issues with the vanilla install on W7 x64, no compatibility mode...

1920 x 1080 with a 32-bit color depth looks pretty amazing, bye bye color-banding
Almost done with the 32-bit mod... So many little things to fix.

Oh by the way, HUD appears bigger due to the increased field-of-view... we'll have to work on this to reduce the HUD size when increasing the FOV.
Bigger, readable fonts are also on the list for a readable HUD at high-def res.
