I know I am screwing something up but, I can not recall what it is. I used to be able to do this, no problem.

Do you actually have an LGB selected?

Yup, when I pickle, the LGB falls away.

You have to turn the laser on as well. I don't recall what the key command is mapped to but you have to toggle the laser on. That is unless you have a FAC or other A/C painting it for you.

I use ALAS mode and do see the laser active after the bomb separates.

On the SMS-page of the GBU, have you selected Auto under MODE instead of man(ual)?

I tried both. I missed both ways.

Can someone list the steps that use to get a good shack so I can try to mimic your procedure?

Select AUTO (CCRP) mode

Align CCRP steering line with velocity vector and level out or loft or whatever
Drop bomb automatically

Out of curiosity, isn't it better for these...

to happen way earlier in the process? Like some where in step 1-3?

Hard to argue with your results though...

Also, how do you have a CCRP steering line provided if the radar lock is broken?

I THOUGHT that was provided by the radar?

Gonna try your method tonight when I get home from work tonight.

Yeah it would be better, but consider it more of a final check than anything.

The target locked by the FLIR is providing targeting data for the CCRP steering line.

Ok, getting much better results now. I think the problem was that I had too much offset between the ASL and my flight path. I assumed the bombs could handle the course change but, that was evidently an incorrect assumption. Thanks for the help!

The closer to the steering line you drop, the higher the percentage of a hit.

As far as setting things up, I will put the bomb aiming in AUTO mode as I ingress to the target (or as soon as time permits in the mission). I try not to turn on the MASTER ARM until I roll in or hit the initial point. Since in this sim you start on deck with the Master Arm already ON, I definitely make it a point to turn it OFF first thing (this is part of the procedure that my Warthog profile automatically takes care of for me).

Speaking of Warthogs, did you have a problem mapping the "Enter" key in TARGET?

TARGET does not see the "Enter" key when I try to map the designate function.
