Should note that this will modify core game files to make them incompatible with previous versions.

Nice.

SimHQ will be ready to update when Steam is pushing it down.

Nice list of changes. I'm a bit confused about the terminology. Doesn't 'release candidate' mean that it's not 100% finalized, but just very close to being finalized? Obviously, looking at the download links and changelog, it appears they mean it as a release. ?

RC is ready for release. Back before big bandwidth, that would mean it was tested and no patches. smile Nowadays it's close to public beta, since releasing to the public gives more exposure to system configurations and possible bugs. With freeware/shareware, there it's no manufacturer, so RC goes straight to the public.

So pre-alpha -> alpha -> beta -> release candidate -> release to manufacturer -> "gold" -> store shelves -> customer (for a physical media product)

Like JAMF said, unless there's any serious show stoppers this will be the official release. This is more of a final test before making it official

Hoping they roll this one out at full speed, as it has been a long time in the making and fixes many, many annoying bugs.

Not to mention there's a ton of addons and map makers that have been waiting for this release before they release their stuff.

Would not install that yet. There is already a beta to it.
