I watched some of the violin player's other videos, man, she's incredibly talented, not to mention quite lovely... Too bad she's married.

All the Elder Scrolls games (well at least Morrowind to Skyrim) actually have the same theme... each game just gets it's own variation. smile

I had forgotten how epic and "light" Morrowind's variation was. It almost beats Skyrim's theme IMHO. And by god that was an awesome book-style CD box.

Amazing how many game moments that Morrowind theme just recalled. My first RPG ever, and I think my first open world game ever.

Seeing the three united here - how many hours have we spent on those... many hundreds I guess.

The music of the TES series has always been a very strong point of it since Morrowind. The composer Jeremy Soule created very atmospheric and fitting tracks.

But I really want that Metal version above for the battles! biggrin

I already liked Arena in 1994, but never finished it. Skipped Daggerfall, got Morrowind "by accident" as I purchased an MSI GeForce 4 Ti-4800SE back in July 2003. The CD came as a goodie with it. I looked at it and decided to install it, when I first saw Seyda Neen it was one of this "Wow!" moments in a gamers life. And the game certainly delivered and did not disappoint. I still have it installed on my notebook, which can't run Oblivion with a decent fps-rate.

As great as Skyrim is I still love Morrowind. It had a great story and real emotion in the game.

That first song that THX linked is blowing up. When I saw the video, it was around 311k views. I got up this morning and checked it. It was around 516k Right now it's 578k.

BTw, while I really like Skyrim - the trip down memory lane to Morrowind clearly shows has it has been simplified beyond recognition with it's predecessors.

How much armor pieces we had there - and you could wear shirts or robes under armor - and the character/skill system is a quarter as detailed as it used to be.

The "action RPG" style suits me but for sure it was more complicated in Morrowind, and I also think the actual gameplay was not as "mouse-driven" - you'd click for an attack but it would MISS if your skills were weak. Whereas now hitting or missing or done shooter first person style, and only the damage is a result of weapon skills.

And we can thank consoles for that.
