Was planning on starting a new grand campaign as Allies vs ahistorical Japanese with extra units and surprises (forget scenario name) on historical difficulty and historical PH/PI attack. Is the community interested in following the war's progress? I ask because I saw the great interest (and mine as well!) for Para's WitE AAR, and would like to offer something similar for WitP:AE.

I'd personally love to see this. I've been thinking of starting a game of Hearts of Iron III as the UK and developing a similar AAR. I think the more, the merrier. Make it happen!

Cool. I'm on the verge of starting an AAR for my upcoming PBEM of the Gaudalcanal scenario in the next day or two over at Subsim. We're playing it as a trainer before the grand campaign as my buddy has never played any PBEM WITPAE before and I've never played as the Japanese. The more AARs out there the more the word will spread about this amazing game!

Ok, will do! I figure I will do reports in-game monthly or quarterly depending on in-game activity. Dec '41 is obviously a pretty hectic month so if I can wrap it up this weekend you'll see the first post on Sunday. Started last night and got those first "2-hour" turns out of the way! Heres my house rules:

1) No Sir Robin defense in the DEI. Evac of ships and a/c upon reaching the point of futile resistance is allowed.

2) Playing WitP: Grand Campaign Iron Man. I have no idea what the IJN/A has at this point, but its a lot and they are clearly faster in their advance from what I saw last night. (Rabaul on Turn 2!!!!) So as a rule, I will be especially cautious in early '42 as I do not have an intel on IJN/A OOB.

3) +/-60 day variable reinforcement dates. I love to gamble!

4) All historical, save the Ironman scenario. USN torps are useless, but we have better damage control.

Thats all I can think of at the moment, see you guys on Sunday.

Haven't forgotten, on Dec 29 right now will complete the month tonight then work on first post. VERY hectic month as you might expect and the IJN has thrown me a few surprises (but I returned the favor :)). Look for it this week.
