Hi Ssnake,

Any chance you can tell us whether any of the keyboard commands have changed with the upcoming upgrade? If so, any chance you can release a chart or something which would allow some of us to begin mapping these commands to our hardware?

If your willing to share... i would also like to know if this is an actual upgrade... or will it be a new install... reason i ask... getting a new PC built right now... should have it in 2 weeks or so... should i hold off for the full upgrade install or is it like a patch?

Thx.

it will also require us to update the license on the Codemeter dongle.

This sounds scary. I have visions of my dongle melting.

Naw..nothing scary. I have dongles plugged in 24/7, 10 years. Nothing scary about it.

Naturally, we added vehicle-specific hotkeys like for the T-72. All in all however I don't remember any dramatic changes, there are really just a handful of them.

The biggest change is the activation of the mouse wheel in many situations, like having a mouse over a 3D button that can be rotated, so you simply rotate the mouse wheel there. Or map zoom and pan.
I confess, I am too lazy (ahem: "too busy") to create a hotkey list now, especially since I can't simply export my own hotkey list (I have a German keyboard, and therefore adapted the hotkey layout to it). What should make things easy for you is that the hotkey list is now pre-sorted by vehicle and general functions. This makes it much easier to find that one command of interest.

This major upgrade (like all other major upgrades before) is a standalone installation, and we recommend to uninstall previous versions before installing this one. Your screen resolution settings and hotkey preferences etc. will persist since the corresponding configuration file contains personalized data; therefore it is exempt from the uninstallation process.

It's really a harmless process, and anyone can confirm who made the license upgrade for SB Pro version 2.5; You make a payment, and get two emails from the web shop - one with the order confirmation, the other containing a link to a "ticket" - a web page. With the CodeMeter runtime software installed, and the CM stick plugged in, and a browser that supports Java (or ActiveX, for the Internet Explorer) you simply follow the link to that web page, click on an "activate my license" button, and the applet will transfer the license data to your stick.

Done.
You may now play.

It's that simple, really.

If you have an old CM stick and never performed a firmware upgrade, I recommend to do that now. Start the CodeMeter Control Center, click the circular arrow button, and follow the on-screen instructions. It will only take a minute or so.

Okay...sounds good. Sounds like I can use the most recent keychart I have and begin building profiles from there.
