I am dying to find out which character Benicio del Torro will be playing. Either way, I'm sure he'll be fantastic. I know it's not 100% confirmed yet whether he'll be in the film though.

Having nudity doesn't preclude a film from being Star Trek. After all, there have already been major changes made with JJ's reboot but it's still Star Trek.

Some disagree. By going that route you're changing it even further, so even fewer people will agree it's still ST.

Just having the same character names, ship, and general world as ST doesn't make it ST.

I'm not aware of any official Star Trek canon stating that you can't have nudity because it invalidates what Star Trek is all about.

Perhaps fans who only consider TOS to be Star Trek would believe that since the original show had to be so family friendly.
