Just wondering if anyone has played via e-mail with the new CMBN? I played one round with CMSF via e-mail, but after 5 turns or so, the files were too big to e-mail so we had to set up a file sharing account... we finished the game, but never liked that way... what size files are they for CMBN? same as SF?

thx

Depending on map and battle size, I've seen files up to 18 MB. Usually around 4 or 5 MB though for medium size battles. I use "Send This" and "Drop Box" for files this big. Drop box is the coolest, the files transfer straight to your opponents desktop.

You up for a game? smile

I've had PBEM games with file sizes of 38MB. Like Richardg said, it will really depend on size of map, what is in the map. Things like forests with three trees per tile are heavy data users, buildings etc. Of course size of forces as well. I use "SendThisFile" for my PBEM needs. It is free, does very well with large files and you don't need to download software to get it to work.

Dropbox is fantastic with CMBN and even works well with the older CM titles. It also makes playing multi-players per side fairly simple.
