Sorry for all the newbie questions. I'm not sure where I'll race more, but for right now living room (xbox is more convenient). I have CSR wheel/pedals so it works on PC & Xbox360.

So which platform should I get the game for? Thanks!

I'd say because it's a console based game get it on the 360... It'll work better on the console and from what I've read has less bugs, but there's alwyas the possibility of a patch that fixes the problems for the PC version... But Codemasters patch history isn't great, especially after 2010s failed patches where they'd fix something but break something else in the game... It might cost more, but I believe your best choice would be the 360 version...

I have both versions.. Codemasters did a good version with both and there isn't much to choose between them.. If xbox is more convenient then you wont be disappointed but either is a vast improvement on 2010's effort.

I had 2010 on xbox and have 2011 on PC. In the end it depends on what hardware is inside your PC. If it's reasonably up to date, I'd go with the PC version, which looks better than the already nice xbox graphics and allows community mods and patches. However if you are interested in the coop mode, stay away from PC as it is a nightmare of disconnects, lost saves and a myriad of other bugs.

I'd say go by framerate you get on other up to date games on your pc. I get a framerate lower than I like in racing games on 2010, although it's not TOO bad and sometimes stutters. That's really irritating. On 360 you're more likely to have a consistent fps if you aren't so sure about your pc set up.

IMO... PC (if you have a good system)...

PC has mods fixing a few things, looks better and plays the same.

Xbox 360 MP is a joke, unless you got alot of friends that play it privately, short races with a bunch of crashers, not that the PC don't have that either but not as bad.

I don't play MP on my 360, but I've played quite a bit of 2011 on my PC and it's worked great so far. There is an issue with AI speeds in the rain that the latest patch was supposed to fix but seems not to (ie in changing conditions like rain getting harder or lighter and you need to change tire types the AI seems to get dry track times, while in static always-raining or always-dry conditions their times make sense). Other than that, I think I've had a few CTDs with it, but the MP seems stable.
